General Guidelines

  • independent access to the facility labs is allowed only with valid Safety training (valid for one year)
  • autonomous operation of any instrument in the facility is allowed only after finishing corresponding training
  • booking of the instrument prior use is obligatory
  • the user is responsible for the instrument during a booked session
  • users are asked to check the equipment for any obvious problems or damage before the use immediately report encountered issues
  • any damage or malfunction of the CEMCOF equipment encountered during the session must be immediately reported
  • any dangerous and toxic chemicals should be used only in the fume hood
  • users must clean and decontaminate the workspace in the wet lab after the sample preparation
  • new users are encouraged to discuss their project with CEMCOF staff to identify an optimal experimental strategy
  • all CEMCOF labs are BSL-2 space, users are asked to follow guidelines for operation in BSL-2 space
  • users are asked to contact CEMCOF staff and CEITEC MU safety officer well in advance before initiating a project with a new BSL-2 organism
  • standard operating protocols (SOPs) are available by the instrument. Users are asked to consult the facility staff in case of any doubts with equipment operation
