Equipment Reservation

Active facility users with a valid certificate for the autonomous operation of the facility equipment can directly reserve instrumentation time via the CEITEC planning board. The instrumentation is booked based on a first come, first served basis.

Access for New Users

CEMCOF equipment and services are accessible through several access routes which comprise international access projects CIISB and Instruct, transnational access project iNEXT-Discovery, or direct access to the facility resources for a fee.

  1.  CIISB

The user will submit a project proposal via an online form. The application will undergo technical feasibility evaluation (carried out by the facility staff) and peer-review (carried out by an external EM expert). Following the successful evaluation of the project, the user will sign general terms and conditions for accessing the CIISB facility. The arrangement of the actual measurement is done via email correspondence with the facility manager.

The CIISB project will cover 90% of the service-related cost. The user is requested to participate by covering 10% of the running costs. This is typically 5-10 EUR per hour of the instrument time.

The user is requested to include the following statement in the acknowledgment section of any publication resulting from the data obtained within the CIISB project:

"We acknowledge Cryo-electron microscopy and tomography core facility CEITEC MU of CIISB, Instruct-CZ Centre, supported by MEYS CR (LM2023042) and European Regional Development Fund-Project „Innovation of Czech Infrastructure for Integrative Structural Biology“ (No. CZ.02.01.01/00/23_015/0008175)."

  1.  Instruct

The user will submit a project proposal to Instruct selecting "Electron microscopy, Brno" as an access route. The project proposal will undergo technical feasibility evaluation (by the facility manager) and peer-review (by 2-3 experts in the field). Following the successful evaluation of the project, the service is arranged via email correspondence between the user and the facility staff.

The Instruct-ERIC will cover 100% of the service cost to the extent approved in the project evaluation. There is no additional cost requested from the user.

The user is requested to include the following statement in the acknowledgment section of any publication resulting from the data acquired within the Instruct project:

"This work benefited from access to the Cryo-electron microscopy core facility CEITEC Masaryk University, and Instruct-ERIC centre. Financial support was provided by Instruct-ERIC (PID XXXXX)."

  1. Direct access

The user will submit the service request form. The facility will evaluate the technical feasibility of the project and provide an estimation of the extent of the service. Following the confirmation of the general terms and conditions of use, the service will be planned via email correspondence.

The following rates apply to direct access to CEMCOF equipment:
